IMCC was established in 1974 as a Joint Venture between Contracting & Marine Services Co., S.A.K. (CMS) and a consortium of eight reputed Japanese companies lead by Nippon Steel Corporation – Japan.

ACTIVITY

IMCC’s main activities since inception, is to provide Offshore Maintenance & Construction Services to the Oil & Gas sector. Our main area of operation has been in the Offshore Oilfields located at the neutral zone between Saudi Arabia & Kuwait, which is being managed under the joint operations agreement between the State of Kuwait which is represented by Kuwait Gulf Oil Co. (KGOC) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by Aramco Gulf Operations Co. (AGOC).

EQUIPMENT

IMCC is equipped with the latest in technology and equipments. It started with its flag ship JAWHARAH I, a 100 ton capacity crane barge with its towing tug equipped with necessary equipment to carry out maintenance work on the offshore pipeline. In 1984, it was replaced by the JAWHARAH II, which is a 200 ton crane barge and well manned by a very experienced crew of 150, which includes marine engineers, divers, mechanics, welders, seamen etc

Laying/Salvaging of sub-sea oil and gas pipelines of various sizes.

Pipe Laying operation is done employing the side launching method (stalking). Before launching, welded joints are X-Ray tested using API 1104 as the standard code for interpretation for oil and gas pipeline and wrapped with neoprene heat shrinkable sleeves.
